Information We Collect

Personal Information You Provide

When you use our score lookup or submit the lead capture form, we may collect your name, email address, phone number, and home address.

Automatically Collected Information

We automatically collect certain information when you visit our site, including your IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, time spent on pages, and referring URL.

Device Location on Maps

When you use the location button on a HailScore Pro map, your browser asks for your permission first. Your position is shown on that map in your browser and is not stored as GPS coordinates on HailScore servers.

Cookies and Tracking

We use Google Analytics (GA4) and Microsoft Clarity for site analytics, heatmaps, and session replays — these help us understand how visitors use our site (which buttons get clicked, where people scroll, where forms get abandoned) so we can improve the experience. We also use session storage for user preferences. You can opt out via the cookie banner.

How We Use Your Information

How We Share Your Information

With Roofing Contractors

If you request a roof inspection, we share your name, email, phone, and address with one qualified local roofing contractor so they can contact you. That contractor pays Hailscore LLC for the lead when we assign it to them. We share your details only when you ask us to — a score lookup on its own never sends your information to a contractor.

Service Providers

We use Resend (email delivery), Vercel (hosting), Neon (database), Mapbox (mapping), Google Analytics (site analytics), Microsoft Clarity (heatmaps and session replays), Stripe (payments), Apple (maps and address suggestions in the HailScore Pro iPhone app), and Anthropic (AI review of roof photos you choose to submit) to operate our service. These providers may process your data on our behalf.

Hailscore LLC does not sell or rent homeowner lists, contact lists, or canvassing data to anyone, and does not sell your personal information to data brokers or advertisers. Apart from the service providers and data services named in this policy, the only time your information reaches a third party is the inspection request described above, which you initiate.

Data Retention

• Score lookups and associated property data are retained to improve our service and maintain historical records.
• Lead information is retained for as long as needed to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected.
• You may request deletion of your personal data by contacting us.

Your Rights

• Access: You can request a copy of your personal data.
• Deletion: You can request we delete your personal data.
• Opt-Out: You can opt out of marketing communications at any time.
• California Residents (CCPA/CPRA): You have the right to know what data we collect, to request deletion, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. We do not sell contact lists, and we do not share data with advertisers or data brokers. We do pass your details to one roofing contractor for compensation when you request an inspection, which California law may treat as a sale — not requesting an inspection opts you out, and you can also email info@myhailscore.com.

Children's Privacy

We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.

Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure database hosting, and access controls to protect your information.

HailScore Browser Extension

The HailScore browser extension shows a property's recorded hail history while you browse listings on Zillow, Redfin, and Realtor.com. This section describes the extension specifically. It applies in addition to the rest of this policy.

Single Purpose

The extension has one purpose: to display government-recorded hail history for the property listing you are currently viewing.

What the Extension Sends Us

Only the property address shown on the listing page you are viewing, and only on the three supported listing sites. If a listing publishes a year built, that number is sent too, so the score can reflect the property's likely roof age. Nothing else about the page, your browser, or your activity is transmitted.

What the Extension Does Not Do

• It does not read or transmit your browsing history.
• It does not track you across sites. It runs only on zillow.com, redfin.com, and realtor.com, and is inert everywhere else.
• It does not require an account, a login, or any personal information.
• It does not collect your name, email address, or phone number.
• It does not sell or share data with advertisers or data brokers.
• It does not load or execute remote code. All of its logic ships inside the extension package.

Looking at a Listing Does Not Create a Record of That Home

Addresses looked up through the extension are scored and returned to you. They are not written into our property database. Browsing listings with the extension installed does not add those homes, or your interest in them, to any dataset we keep or license.

What Is Stored on Your Device

Results are cached locally in your browser for up to 24 hours to avoid repeat lookups. Your per-site on/off preference, a local count of how many lookups you have run, and any listings you pin to the compare tray are also stored locally. All of this lives on your device only, and is removed when you uninstall the extension or clear its storage.

Permissions and Why They Are Needed

• Access to zillow.com, redfin.com, realtor.com: to read the property address from the listing page you are viewing so its hail history can be looked up, and to display the result there.
• Storage: to hold the local cache, your per-site preference, and your pinned comparisons described above.
• Access to myhailscore.com: to request the hail history for the address.

Removing Your Data

Uninstalling the extension deletes everything it stored on your device. Because the extension does not create an account and does not add browsed properties to our database, there is no extension profile on our side to delete. If you have separately submitted your details through the website, the rights described above still apply.

Contractor Accounts (HailScore Pro)

This section covers the accounts roofing contractors, insurance adjusters and other professionals use on the HailScore Pro dashboard and in the HailScore Pro iPhone app. It applies in addition to the rest of this policy.

What We Ask For

To open an account we ask for an email address and a company name. On the website we also ask for a password, and you may add your name and phone number. We never require a customer list to use HailScore Pro.

If you choose to paste or upload a list of addresses into a bulk tool, we use it to return your results. A bulk lookup is recorded in your company's activity history with up to 50 of its addresses, and each address it scored is noted in our usage log. Loss-run and portfolio-sweep rows are not saved to your account.

Your Searches Stay With Your Company

Addresses you look up one at a time, and pins you save, are kept in your company's account as site pins together with any job names you add. Everyone on your company's team can see the company's pins. Your company's admins and managers can also see each member's activity, including the addresses they looked up. On an account without a company, your pins are visible only to you.

We never share your company's saved searches, site pins, job names or activity with another contractor — including any roofing company that receives homeowner inspection requests from HailScore — and we do not sell them to anyone. Outcomes you record on leads we send you, such as whether a roof had damage, are used inside HailScore to check and improve our scoring.

Two places run the same lookup homeowners use: our public homeowner report, and the scores shown for addresses on your Portfolio watch list. Each of those lookups adds a record of the property to HailScore's property dataset, which holds no company names, and is also noted in your company's activity history and our usage log. An inspection request you submit on the public report is shared with a local contractor as described above.

HailScore Staff Access

HailScore staff look at a company's saved pins or the addresses it searched only to provide support, keep the service secure, or meet a legal obligation. In our admin tools that access is read-only — staff cannot add, rename or delete your pins — and every view is logged.

Address and Map Services

Address suggestions come from Mapbox on the website and from Apple Maps in the HailScore Pro iPhone app, and our servers use Mapbox to turn an address into map coordinates, so each of them receives the address you type. If you use your current location in the iPhone app, Apple Maps converts it to a street address. To build a report we send the property's coordinates, never your name or company, to public data services: the U.S. Geological Survey, the FCC, Open-Meteo, NASA POWER and the USDA Forest Service.

The site analytics described above, Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity, also run on the Pro dashboard. Some dashboard page addresses include the street address being looked up, so those tools can receive it.

Retention and Deletion

Our address-lookup cache keeps a resolved address for about 90 days and stores a one-way fingerprint of what you typed instead of the text itself. Deleting your account in the HailScore Pro app deletes your personal saved pins, and, if you were the last member of a company the app created, that company's pins and job names. Pins of a company that stays open belong to that company and remain with it. We keep the record that a lookup happened in your company's usage history, and receipts for paid reports. To delete an account you use on the website, or a company's data, email info@myhailscore.com.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
