What's actually free?
The HailScore (0–100), the interactive storm map for your address, the year-by-year event timeline, FEMA disaster overlays, elevation context, and our neighborhood-average comparison. Everything that helps a homeowner understand their own property is free, forever. We only charge for the deliverable a professional needs — the source-cited PDF, branded reports, bulk lookup, and API.
Why $9.95 one-off when the subscription is $9.99/mo?
The one-off is for someone who needs exactly one report — an adjuster building a single claim file, a homeowner contesting an insurance denial, an attorney preparing for one case. If you'll pull more than one report in a month, the subscription is mathematically cheaper. We deliberately priced the one-off and the subscription at almost the same number to make this an honest choice rather than a trap.
What's the difference between Pro Individual ($9.99) and Team ($49)?
Individual is for one person doing their own work — branded PDFs, saved addresses, unlimited pulls for normal use. Team adds a 25-report-per-month quota, audit log of every report pulled (regulatory requirement for many adjusting firms), and the $1.96 effective per-report price that makes us competitive with HailTrace and CoreLogic on volume.
What happens if I exceed my Team or Firm quota?
Overage routes through the $9.95 retail flow — same source data, same PDF format. No surprise auto-charge against your subscription; you pay-as-you-go for the additional reports just like a non-subscriber would.
Can I cancel?
Yes, any time. Subscriptions cancel at the end of the current billing period (no proration). One-off reports come with a 24-hour no-questions full refund — see /refund-policy.
Do I need volume pricing for more than 150 reports/month?
Yes. Email hello@myhailscore.com — we'll quote a single-billing enterprise plan, white-label option, or API-only access without the report quota.
What about insurance carriers and software platforms?
Carrier and platform integrations use our /api/v1 endpoints with separate volume pricing. See /for-carriers for portfolio-sweep details.
Every plan uses the same NOAA-cited dataset: NOAA Storm Events Database, NCEP MRMS live radar, NEXRAD SWDI archives, SPC Local Storm Reports, NWS Active Alerts. The score is methodology-versioned and reproducible. Read the methodology paper.
