Each dot is one documented hail event — a radar detection or a physical ground report — plotted at its recorded coordinates around the address you entered. Alongside the map, the report lists each event's date, estimated stone size, and distance, and names which of the four NOAA publishers recorded it so you can verify independently. Every report also displays a 'data current as of' caveat, so you know exactly how fresh each source is.
Does a hail map show roof damage?+
No. A hail map documents exposure — hail of damage-capable size detected near the property — not confirmed damage. Hail can crack shingles or knock granules off in ways no radar can see, and only a physical inspection by a licensed contractor can establish whether a specific roof was actually damaged. Use the map to decide whether an inspection is worth scheduling, and to match event dates against problems you've noticed.
