Built for the truck, not the desk
The design constraint was a specific moment: you are standing in a driveway, the homeowner is on the porch, and someone is about to ask you which storm did this. That is not a moment for a dashboard.
So the app is big type and high contrast, readable in a windshield's worth of glare, and it does a small number of things quickly:
The deliberate omission: there is no score in the app
This is the part contractors ask about most, so it is worth stating plainly. The Pro app does not show a HailScore. That was a choice, not a gap.
A proprietary number is the easiest thing in the world to argue with. What holds up in a conversation with a skeptical homeowner — or an adjuster who has heard every pitch — is a row that traces to somewhere neither of you owns: NOAA Storm Events, NEXRAD radar, MRMS MESH, CoCoRaHS. The app gives you those records and their sources, so what you are quoting is the government's data, not our opinion of it.
The 0–100 HailScore still exists on the consumer side — that is how the web tool works. It just isn't what a contractor needs while standing in a driveway.

Why this matters on the Front Range
The app works for any US address, so this is not a Colorado-only tool. But Colorado is where the shape of the problem is clearest.
On the Front Range, "was there hail here?" is almost always yes — the interesting question is which day, and how big, how close. In a corridor that sees hail somewhere most weeks in season, a contractor who can name the date and the size at that specific address is having a different conversation than one who cannot. The 1/2/3-mile rings exist for exactly that: hail two miles away is a real fact about the neighborhood and a weak fact about the roof in front of you, and the app shows you which one you have.
That also means the honest answer is sometimes "the record does not show a storm here." Knowing that before you climb is worth as much as knowing the opposite.
What it is not
Worth being direct, because this industry has a long tradition of overpromising what storm data means.
The app documents hail exposure from government weather records. It does not diagnose damage. A hail record near an address means the public record shows hail near that address — not that shingles are cracked, not that a claim is valid, and not that any particular outcome follows. Only an on-roof inspection by a qualified roofer or adjuster can determine whether a roof is damaged.
The optional $9.95 PDF follows the same rule: it is source-cited documentation for a file, emailed in about a minute. It is not a verdict and not a guarantee.
Getting started
The trial is 14 days, unlimited lookups, and does not ask for a card. If you work storms in Colorado or anywhere else in the US, the fastest test is the one that matters: pull up an address you already know the history of, and see whether the record matches what you found on the roof.
